Excellus & Univera PDF Accessibility

Excellus and Univera required all client-facing PDFs to meet accessibility standards and provide equal access to all users. I led a thorough remediation process, reviewing documents for compliance with WCAG and PDF/UA guidelines.

• Checked accessibility using Adobe Acrobat’s Accessibility Checker
• Validated PDFs with the PAC (PDF Accessibility Checker) program
• Tested functionality and readability using screen readers
• Ensured a seamless, accessible experience for all users

Through this work, I identified and corrected issues such as missing tags, improper reading order, non-descriptive links, and insufficient contrast, making the documents fully accessible while maintaining the original design and content integrity.
